Progressives to Vote For and Support in 2020
Voting is tough. There are a lot of people running with a lot of
motivations. Many of which do not line up with what you may believe in.
This will hopefully help to serve as a bit of a guide to some candidates
for someone that is looking to vote for the progressive left. Supporting
policies like Medicare For All (Single Payer), The Green New Deal,
higher marginal income taxes on the upper brackets, and potentially even
wealth tax territory. Not everyone here will support all of these things,
but most of them should support most of these, or at least be closer to
these positions than their opponents are in cases where there is no real
progressive running.
Hopefully I will add to this list as I have time. To start things off:

Progressive Incumbents
Voting in primaries is important, perhaps even more so than in the general election.
Of course those are important as well, so let’s not forget about progressive
incumbents like Rashida Tlaib, Ilhan Omar, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC),
Mark Pocan, and others.
Remember, many of these candidates may not be perfect, but they’re what we’ve got, so let’s be somewhat pragmatic here. They’re head and shoulders above many of their party fellows, not to mention far preferable to pratically anyone with the Republicans. That doesn’t mean that we can’t push back when they make bad votes. For instance, Ro Khanna is a pretty good progressive on most issues, and yet he voted for the anti-BDS (Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions) bill, thereby limiting free speech in favor of kowtowing to the interests of a far right Israeli government that regularly violates human rights. Despite this, he is the campaign manager for Bernie Sanders, the only 2020 presidential candidate that has stated he is absolutely willing to use economic pressure via suspending aid as a tool to try and prevent Israel from engaging in more human rights abuses and flagrant violations of international law.
And let’s not forget the biggest primary candidate:
Bernie 2020!

.@RashidaTlaib is standing up to the vulgarity and ugliness of the Trump administration.
— Bernie Sanders (@BernieSanders) October 28, 2019
She is taking on the greed and corruption of the economic establishment.
And I will look to her for her leadership in Congress under a Sanders administration. pic.twitter.com/j2OsuwbYpP
The real deal, the OG, the one that was fighting for progressive values before I was born.
Endorsed by Rashida Tlaib, AOC, Ilhan Omar, Michael Moore, Ben & Jerry (you know, the icecream guys, Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield).
Heart attack? All treated and done with, Bernie’s Back!
